Top 5 | Books to Get You Out of a Reading Slump

I’m in a pretty awful reading slump right now, and its getting me on my nerves … I mean: I want to read! Reading is my ultimate way to relax and it feels weird to only have read two books this month (one of which was a reread). I had a minor reading slump last year, so fortunately I know a few tricks to get out of one … Continue reading “Top 5 | Books to Get You Out of a Reading Slump”

Book for Thought #3

In the Book for Thought-series I share with you one of the books from my currently reading pile. In the blog post I show you what book I’ve chosen and which edition I’m reading. In the comments I’d love to hear your thoughts on the book in particular, the writer or the genre – you do not have to have read this particular book; questions are most welcome as well! This week’s book is … Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire! Continue reading “Book for Thought #3”

Top 5 | Books I’m Afraid To Pick Up

I’m an avid reader but I’m still hesitant to pick certain books up. They’re either huge, difficult or extremely sad (or scary) and therefore have been waiting on my TBR for way to long. I’ve made the first step (actually buying the book) already and I may have even read the first few pages, but these books in today’s top 5 have yet to make it to my currently reading pile! Continue reading “Top 5 | Books I’m Afraid To Pick Up”

August Book Haul

Last month I told you I didn’t really need any new books. And I don’t, actually. There are quite a few books on my shelves that are waiting to be read, but this month I came across so many beautiful books in several (different!) second-hand shops, that I couldn’t resist picking a few up. Want to see which books will be engrossing my TBR pile? Continue reading “August Book Haul”

Top 5 | The Time & Place Book Tag

A while ago Jen Campbell started a new tag with this video in which she talked about ten books that are linked with a certain place and time in her life. I thought it was a lovely tag and when I saw Jean’s version of it, I thought: I have to do this as well! Instead of ten I have picked five books, just because I don’t have that many books linked to a specific time and/or place. Let’s see, shall we? Continue reading “Top 5 | The Time & Place Book Tag”

Very Good Lives by J. K. Rowling

I think probably every fan of Rowling’s work has read this little booklet – or else has seen her 2008 commencement speech on YouTube. As a great admirer of her work myself, I wanted to add Very Good Lives to my collection very badly. I loved her speech (in fact, I watched it all over again with my mum) and the book itself is a true collector’s item! Continue reading “Very Good Lives by J. K. Rowling”

The Harry Potter Tag

There is a Harry Potter Tag! Well of course there is. I bet there are several of them, actually. This one I got from Jean Bookishthoughts over on YouTube. Want to know what Harry Potter means to me and with which character I’ve always want to hook up with? (I’m sure you don’t want to, but hey, I didn’t make the rules!) Continue reading “The Harry Potter Tag”
